In many organisations, 'HR' has encouraged the management of people as a transaction, rather than enabling purposeful relationships, and nurturing the creativity and the emotional connections that drive people beyond the ordinary. People want the opportunity for challenge, connection, achievement, and fulfilment. These are not transactional things.
